Interesting video, but as this article explains - Buddha is not considered to be a deity. Nor does veneration equal "worship" per se. Although different Buddhist traditions have very different interpretations, especially when it comes to matters of "conviction". I relate more on the relationship between various religions and Buddhism here. Also, if you are interested, there is a story of how Buddha proved a so-called "creator God" wrong here. [Edit] I am still trying to understand what your video has to do with this post.

Thank you, once again, for an excellent post. You explain things so well! Sometimes what I see other people refer to as faith looks more like superstition, and I am very wary of falling into that trap in my practice.

Thank you very much. Yes, he didn’t distinguish between any of them by designating them as the great, greater, or greatest blessings. Perhaps, because like you said, it really comes down to what is skillful or unskillful. These blessings which the Buddha offered is actually, and quite obviously, practical advice which when applied is conducive to our own happiness and prosperity.

Thank you again. You keep the Dharma alive. The Buddha doesn’t choose between “the great, the greater and the greatest blessing”. Perhaps because there is no great and greater and greatest, there is only skillfull and non-skillfull? The Buddha doesn’t get lost in trivialities like this. Perhaps because he doesn’t leave the line of wisdom? Reading this “calmed my mind”. Thanx again.

Yeah, but hopefully this is pointing to a current trend of exposing such abuses and raising public awareness. As I pointed out in the post, I think us lay Buddhists should do our part in raising this awareness and holding those people accountable who abuse and misuse the Sangha.
